Tragic former Leicester owner Vichai ‘shook hands with Harry Maguire to allow him to join Man Utd this summer’
TRAGIC Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha reportedly shook hands with Harry Maguire on a transfer away from the club this summer before the ex-Leicester owner died in a helicopter crash.
Manchester United have been locked in talks for the England star for months with terms over an £80million fee finally being agreed this week.
The 26-year-old had urged Foxes chiefs to make an agreement with the Red Devils as he plots a move away from the King Power Stadium.
And according to the , following the World Cup, Maguire had already shook hands with Vichai over an agreement for him to leave this summer.
The report claims that the England international could secure a transfer away should one of the big clubs make an acceptable offer.
And while it is a sensitive situation, it may come into play in the coming weeks if latest rumours about United agreeing a fee are wide of the mark.
The 60-year-old took ownership of Leicester in 2010, and oversaw their promotion to the Premier League, as well as their underdog story as his side won the top-flight in the 2015/16 season.
Speaking about the impact of Vichai's tragic passing back in April, Maguire admitted the two had a close relationship.
