STEVE BRUCE hilariously asked his Newcastle staff, 'Shall we f*** off now?' after their pre-season win over West Ham.

The new Toon chief, 58, was watching the game in Shanghai from the stands as he is currently only on a 72-hour tourist visa.

But he seemed thrilled with the 1-0 win even joking he should leave on a high with a 100 per cent win-rate.

Yoshinori Muto scored the only goal of the game as Newcastle put their 4-0 battering at the hands of Wolves behind them.

At full-time, the camera panned to Bruce, who appeared to jokingly mutter: "Good win, good win. Shall we f*** off now?!"

While not officially allowed to work in China for now, Bruce did oversee a significant improvement in his new team.

Bruce handed a rare start to highly rated young Danish forward Elias Sorensen and he went close to an early goal.

CRUCIAL WIN

The Geordies did take the lead just after the half hour though as Jamie Sterry whipped over a super cross that was touched home from close range by Muto.

The Japanese forward had looked lively all day and the first goal of his team’s pre season was a deserved reward.

Bruce would also have been buoyed by Sean Longstaff playing his first game since March, following his injury.

As it was, Newcastle finished third in this season's Premier League Asia trophy, as Wolves ran out winners, beating Manchester City in the final on penalties.

Meanwhile, Bruce has spoken out on just what it means to be in charge at boyhood club Newcastle, saying: "My mum would have burst into tears.
