THE word is out on Everton Soares joining Arsenal.
The Brazil striker's wife Isa Ranieri posted clips of him learning English - just as a doctor reportedly arrived in the Gremio star's country to give him a medical for the Gunners.
Arsenal are on the brink of sealing a £25million deal, plus £11m add-ons, despite Manchester United reputedly sending scouts to watch the 23-year-old help the home nation win the Copa America this month.
Premier League champions Man City have also been linked - causing some Etihad fans to speculate his English lessons suggested he is heading their way.
One claimed: He said 'blue', he’s coming to City" while another added: "Choose Manchester City NOT Arsenal."
But a further tweet suggested Etihad chief Pep Guardiola has no need or desire to sign Everton: "They don’t want him and all their wingers are better than him."
Everton has already revealed he might miss Gremio's Copa do Brasil quarter-final next Wednesday due to uncertainty over his future.
He said after Saturday's 2-1 top-flight win over Vasco da Gama: “I do not know. It's an unknown.
“Really. I do not know what can happen. As time goes by, things are tapering.
“I have a proposal. I cannot talk to the club.
“I do not guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday. We will see.”
But earlier in the summer Everton heightened speculation of an Emirates move when he started following compatriot Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram.
Ex-Corinthians forward Martinelli, is the Gunners' only summer recruit so far - from Brazilians Ituano.
And Arsenal mananger Unai Emery has hinted £6m Martinelli could help his pursuit of Everton.
