Mauro Icardi sent home from Inter Milan pre-season tour and will train on his own amid Juventus transfer speculation

MAURO ICARDI has been sent home from Inter Milan's pre-season and told he will not take part in any of their tour of Asia.

It all-but confirms that the Argentina striker is on his way out of the club as Antonio Conte plots for life without the captain.

Inter are currently in Switzerland but Icardi has left their base in Lugano in order to return to Milan.

A statement posted by Inter Milan read: "Icardi will return to Milan from the Lugano training camp today. The club and the Argentine striker have made this decision by mutual agreement.

"Icardi will continue on his path of athletic reconditioning in the coming days but will not take part in the summer tour in Asia."

It will give Icardi and his wife and agent Wanda Nara the perfect opportunity to negotiate his way out of the San Siro.

Icardi has been heavily linked with a move across Europe with Juventus the most likely destination.

But the Old Lady already have a wealth of attacking talent and would need to offload at least Gonzalo Higuain to push through a move.

Inter are keen to flog Icardi so they can fund their move for Romelu Lukaku.

The two clubs have opened negotiations but they have failed to come up with a value as United hold out for £75million.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to say whether he would stay at the club and instead hinted that they would consider any offer.

He said: "Let’s see when the season starts.

"We’ve not had any bids that we’re considering. All my conversations with the players I will keep confidential. That’s between us - that's my privilege.

"There’s been so much speculation but yes he should be fit for Wednesday. He trained with the team yesterday but he wasn’t useful today."
