Chelsea player ratings: Kids Mount and Gilmour shine while Bakayoko flops in Lampard’s first win against St Patrick’s

FRANK LAMPARD has picked up his first win as Chelsea boss, beating St Patrick's 4-0 at Richmond Park.

Blues wonderkid Mason Mount opened the scoring early before Emerson doubled the lead and Olivier Giroud signed off with two second-half strikes.

While Tiemoue Bakayoko is still struggling to find his form at Chelsea and looked sloppy against the Irish side.

Chelsea started the match on the front foot and could have scored at least three more in the first half.

But St Pats keeper Barry Murphy pulled off some fine saves.

And Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham lacked the edge in front of the goal.

The Blues were much quieter in the second period after Lampard changed his side completely at half-time again.

Although Billy Gilmour and Kasey Palmer showed off some lovely passing.

FIRST HALF

WILLY CABALLERO

Didn't have much to do, but was up to the task when St Pats sent a dangerous cross towards Dean Clarke.

DAVIDE ZAPPACOSTA

Not as visible going forward as Emerson on the other flank.

But once tested the St Pats keeper with a cheeky shot. A solid performance overall.

FIKAYO TOMORI

Looked composed alongside veteran David Luiz, although St Pats didn't pose much threat.

DAVID LUIZ

Led the defence well - as expected from a team leader.

Nearly opened the scoring early with a powerful header.

EMERSON

Looked dangerous throughout the first half with his relentless runs down the flank.

Scored from long range, although keeper Murphy helped him by fumbling the ball in.

JORGINHO

Controlled the game well while placed at the bottom of the diamond formation.

Ensured that St Pats rarely had a chance to threaten on the break.

MASON MOUNT

Wonderful half from the youngster. Opened the scoring with a great touch off Kovacic's pass.

Was not afraid to ask for the ball and his team-mates visibly trusted him with it, too.

MATEO KOVACIC

Sent a wonderful ball to pick up Mount, who then went on to open the scoring.

ROSS BARKLEY

Hit the post and grabbed an assist when Emerson doubled the lead.

Worked well alongside Kovacic.

TAMMY ABRAHAM

Much quieter than Batshuayi and wasted a wonderful one-on-one situation with Murphy.

MICHY BATSHUAYI

Dangerous from the start, could have netted three times had Murphy not denied him with fine saves.

Not very clinical, though.

SECOND HALF

JAMIE CUMMING

Didn't have a single chance to show off his skills.

MARCOS ALONSO

A bit sloppy in defending and passing. Tried to run forward when bored in his own half.

ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN

Quiet game from the Dane, but St Pats didn't quite give him a chance to intervene.

KURT ZOUMA

Composed with the ball at his feet, stopped a dangerous counter-attack from St Pats.

CESAR AZPILICUETA

An easy game for the Blues skipper.

Gesticulated a lot, though, making sure Chelsea youngsters follow Lampard's directions.

TIEMOUE BAKAYOKO

Was in the shadow of his younger team-mate Gilmour.

Once got nutmegged in an embarrassing manner.

BILLY GILMOUR

Impressive performance from the youngster.

Confident on the ball and run the game well.

KASEY PALMER

Sent some sweet passes forward, including a precise thread to Pedro.

Impressed with his composure and helped Giroud score his second with pressing high up the pitch.

KENEDY

Made a lot of hassle in front of St Pats' goal and finally set up Giroud with a precise ball.

PEDRO

Wasted a few good chances and then disappeared later in the game.

OLIVIER GIROUD

Volleyed the ball home from Kenedy's cross before settling the result at 4-0 following a solo run.

Went for the spectacular on a few occasions, but to no avail
