Divock Origi set to sign new Liverpool deal after being guaranteed more playing time

DIVOCK ORIGI is reportedly set to sign a new long-term Liverpool contract.

ESPN claims the Belgian striker, who scored in the Champions League final win over Spurs, is ready to remain at Anfield after being guaranteed more minutes by Jurgen Klopp.

Origi was left out of the frame last season until he was summoned off the bench to net a dramatic winner in the Merseyside derby against Everton in December.

The versatile forward, 24, then became a key substitute for the Reds, and scored two goals in the comeback against Barcelona to secure Liverpool’s place in another European final.

Origi has just one year left on his current deal, prompting fears Liverpool would either be forced to sell him or allow him to leave on a free transfer next summer.

Spanish giants Real Betis have been linked with a tempting swoop.

However, it’s reckoned that Origi will now stay put on Merseyside, with new deals for other stars set to follow.

Virgil van Dijk, James Milner, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to pen fresh terms in the coming weeks.
