The 26-year-old has failed to impress since his £7million move from Basel in January 2016 and made just five Premier League starts for Unai Emery.

Elneny was put up for sale earlier this year and has now been subject of an approach from Bordeaux, according to

The Egypt international was offered to Crystal Palace and Fulham last summer but his £55,000-per-week wages proved too much of a stumbling block.

This would mean Elneny would be likely to have to take a pay cut to join the French side should he want to leave the Emirates in search of first-team football.

Elneny, having fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, was also close to leaving the club in January with Roma interested in his services.
