Man Utd ‘preparing bid’ for £50million Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff

MANCHESTER UNITED are lining up an offer for Newcastle's £50million midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already snapped up £50m Arron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and £18m Swansea starlet Daniel James.

The youngster made a huge impact in his debut season last year.

St James' Park chiefs have already sold striker Ayoze Perez to Leicester in a £30m deal, and are conscious of selling too many stars while they hunt a replacement for departed boss Rafa Benitez.

Longstaff played 16 times last season, making his Prem debut in the crushing 4-0 Boxing Day defeat to Liverpool.

But he impressed with a string of excellent performances as Toon moved comfortably away from relegation danger.

Longstaff is one of three transfer targets for Solskjaer.
