WEST HAM have slapped a £40million tag on wantaway striker Marko Arnautovic.
The Hammers will play hardball over the Austrian, who has stunned the club by handing in a second transfer request.
They have rejected one ‘insulting’ offer of £19.7m from a Chinese Super League club.
That is believed to be Shanghai SIPG — who also bid in January when Arnie first asked to leave.
A compromise figure of around £30m should be enough to finally allow the Hammers to ditch the troublemaker.
A source said: “There is a feeling now that Arnie has burnt his bridges.”

The cash will help bankroll a possible push for replacements such as Salomon Rondon or Celta Vigo ace Maxi Gomez.
Arnautovic, 30, will still join a pre-season training camp in Switzerland next week as it stands.
West Ham fly home next Friday before heading out to China for the Premier League Asia Trophy also involving Manchester City, Newcastle and Wolves.
