Naby Keita returns to Liverpool for specialist treatment over recurring thigh injury which flared up again at AFCON
NABY KEITA has returned to Liverpool for specialist treatment on his thigh.
The midfielder suffered the injury during the first leg of the Champions League clash against Barcelona this season.
And Keita missed the remainder of Liverpool’s campaign as they beat Spurs in the final while finishing second in the Premier League.
However, the 24-year-old was included in Guinea’s African Cup of Nations squad.
And Keita managed to land a place on the bench for Sunday’s 2-0 win over Burundi.
But it appears the ace’s injury has flared up again.
And he has flown back to Liverpool on a private jet to get specialist treatment on his thigh.
Fortunately for the Reds, it doesn’t appear that Keita’s problem is too serious.
He is expected to make a swift turnaround and fly back out to the AFCON for the remainder of Guinea’s involvement.

Keita made 32 appearances in all competitions during his first season at Anfield, scoring three goals in the process.
And he could soon be joined in midfield by former Red Philippe Coutinho, who looks set to quit Barcelona this summer.
Liverpool have also been linked with Marco Asensio, who could be sacrificed by Real Madrid as the Spaniards hunt a deal for Sadio Mane.
