Man Utd get huge Koulibaly transfer boost as Napoli raid Roma for star defender and Arsenal target Manolas
MANCHESTER UNITED have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Kalidou Koulibaly after Napoli secured a £32million deal for Roma star Kostas Manolas.
The Greek centre-back, 28, will be plying his trade under Carlo Ancelotti next term after Napoli saw off competition from Arsenal to meet his bargain release clause.
And United could now be in with a chance of signing Koulibaly, who is valued at a whopping £85m by Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The Senegal international, 28, has been strongly linked with an Old Trafford switch this summer.
And he hinted that his time in Naples could be up while on international duty at the African Cup of Nations last week.
However, boss Ancelotti has reportedly threatened to quit Napoli if Koulibaly is sold.
And it appears the former Chelsea boss plans on pairing Koulibaly with new boy Manolas in a formidable central defensive partnership.
Raul Albiol is returning to La Liga with Villarreal, and Ancelotti sees Manolas as a replacement for the veteran Spaniard rather than Koulibaly.

Another top defender who won’t be joining United this summer is Diego Godin.
The Uruguay captain was chased by the Red Devils last year and recently announced he would be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract.
However, Godin has instead linked up with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan and is set to form part of a three-man defence with Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij.
