AARON WAN-BISSAKA’S £45million Manchester United move came close to being called off.
That was after Crystal Palace made a late demand for a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
United had previously refused to budge in talks, but reluctantly agreed to the figure to avoid embarrassment and save the deal.
Palace had originally wanted £65m for the right-back, 21, but United would only pay £45m, with £5m in add-ons.
They also refused to cancel the 25 per cent sell-on fee they insisted on in Wilfried Zaha’s sale back to Palace.
United chiefs thought everything was agreed and planned to make an official announcement of his deal on Thursday.
That was delayed until yesterday, but still nothing — despite the player and his family being pictured at Carrington.
A video showed Wan-Bissaka with his family being given a tour of United's HQ. It even shows him signing a contract.
