CHELSEA fans want Frank Lampard to revive the soul of the club and continue their lust for success, but his managerial record last season actually leaves a lot to be desired.
Promotion favourites Derby County have become synonymous with falling at the final hurdle in recent years and the incoming Blues boss certainly did that.
Managing the Rams for one season, Lampard won 24 of his 57 games as his side squeezed into the play-offs by a single point.
And that was arguably an underachievement given Derby's considerable investment in Jack Marriott and Martyn Waghorn, plus the loan additions of young stars Harry Wilson, Mason Mount and Fiyako Tomori.
Still, the East Midlands club reached the play-off final for the first time in five years.
Lampard's predecessor, Gary Rowett, had a very similar record to the ex-England star with 26 wins from 60 games, edging it in terms of points-per-game: 1.6 to 1.56.
Rowett also reached the play-offs in his lone full season, finishing sixth before a semi-final exit at the hands of Fulham.
Things don't get better for Lampard if we look further back.
Steve McClaren had two spells at Pride Park with his first stint producing a run to the play-off final - and a very unlucky Wembley defeat to QPR - on a points-per-game ratio of 1.84.

When returning between October 2016 and March 2017, the former England boss struggled to push the club towards the Premier League but still bettered Lampard thanks to 13 wins and seven draws from 29 games.
While the prospective Chelsea boss did come within one game of the promised land, his record shows the risk being taken at Stamford Bridge.
After the fans failed to warm to the uber-experienced Maurizio Sarri or Rafa Benitez, the Blues will hope a youthful former favourite will strike the right tone on and off the pitch.
