Liverpool outcast Simon Mignolet wanted by Crystal Palace… but their £8m transfer valuation deemed too low
CRYSTAL PALACE are reportedly eyeing a transfer for Liverpool outcast Simon Mignolet - but will not land him for their £8million valuation.
Reports suggested Selhurst Park chiefs were looking to bring in the Belgium to compete as No1 with Wayne Hennessey and Vicente Guaita.
It was understood Palace, who are braced to lose right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, valued Mignolet at £8m.
However, claim Anfield bosses have no intention of selling the ex-Sunderland stopper for that price.
The keeper is a popular figure within the club, despite losing his place to £67m Brazilian Alisson last summer.
Mignolet is part of Liverpool's senior players' committee, and sporting director Michael Edwards is thought to have not put a price tag on him.
Goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, as well as the rest of the squad, would like to see the 31-year-old remain at Anfield.
But Mignolet made just two appearances last campaign, both in cup competition, and could leave for regular football again.
Jurgen Klopp is still looking to bring in another stopper and has lined up Southampton’s Alex McCarthy.

Saints star McCarthy, 29, was on the German's radar last summer and The Mirror reported he will make a move in the current window.
The Englishman earned his first international cap last year and has kept his place as No1 under new boss Ralph Hassenhuttl.
McCarthy would have a choice to make over an exit, with limited first-team football on offer in the North West.
