Newcastle ace Dwight Gayle has luxury Range Rover stolen… but it shouldn’t be too hard to find with personalised number plate

NEWCASTLE UNITED striker Dwight Gayle has issued an appeal for the return of his stolen Range Rover.

The 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at West Brom in the Championship, posted a snap of his motor on Twitter after it was nicked from Essex today.

And it should be quite easy to identify if the thieves are riding about it in it due to the hotshot’s personalised number plate which is DWI6HT G.

Gayle accompanied the image with the caption: “Stolen grey Range Rover SVR from Chingford.

“Could possibly have removed wrap to be original black colour.”

West Brom confirmed earlier in the summer they would not be pursuing a permanent move for the hitman after missing out on promotion.

The £20m asking price from Newcastle has proved too much for the Baggies.

But their supporters are desperate to see the star – who scored 24 goals for them last season – return to the Hawthorns.

And that left to several offering to find it for him as long as he returned to them.

One responded: “Come back to the albion and I'll bring It back.”

Another Baggie commented: “Come back to wba and we’ll all chip together for a new one.”

While another wrote: “If I find it then come back to West Brom.”

But not everyone was as helpful – with several upset Newcastle fans feeling annoyed at Gayle for his post just hours after Rafa Benitez announced his departure from the Magpies.

One blasted: “You do realise Toon Fans have got other things going on n since NUFC pay his wages i think he could been a bit more sensitive to our situation az fans.”

Another said:  “Well this was an inappropriate time to post this.”

A fellow member of the Toon Army said: “As other players tweet good luck to @rafabenitezweb it’s nice to see @dwightgayle just wants his car back.”

Gayle has been linked with Stoke City in recent days as he awaits his future to be sorted on Tyneside under whoever the new manager is.
