Arsenal star Hector Bellerin takes dig at Tony Pulis after Serge Gnabry’s latest award at Bayern Munich
HECTOR BELLERIN has mocked Tony Pulis over historical comments he made regarding Bayern Munich Player of the Year Serge Ggnabry.
German Gnabry, 23, won the gong in his first full season at the Allianz Arena after 17 goals and seven assists last season.
The winger began his career at Arsenal alongside Bellerin and rose through the ranks before being loaned out to West Brom in 2015.
But Pulis played Gnabry just once and questioned his ability to play in the Premier League.
He told the in 2015: "Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn't been for me, at the moment, at that level to play the games.
"He's come from academy football and not played much league football.
BOUNCED BACK
"Does academy football really prepare players for league football? And we're talking about Premier League football here.
"As a manager you pick a team that's going to win a game of football."
Three years on and Bellerin recalled the words of Pulis as he tweeted his congratulations to Gnabry.
The Spaniard retweeted Bayern's celebration of their player of the year, adding: "Not good enough to play for West Brom though.
"Congrats my bro I always knew you were the best."
