Fabian Delph wanted by Galatasaray with England star set for axe when Man City confirm £62m Rodri transfer
FABIAN DELPH is likely to be the odd man out when Manchester City complete the record £62million signing of Rodri.
And Turkish giants Galatasaray are among the clubs ready to bid for the former Aston Villa man.
England midfielder Delph needs to be playing regularly to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2020.
His chances of doing that at City will be remote if Pep Guardiola completes his move for Atletico Madrid star Rodri.
City are willing to listen to offers for Delph, 29, who has one year left on his deal.
Guardiola is happy for Delph to stay because his versatility and the fact he is English make him useful to have in the squad.
But the club will be sympathetic if he decides he needs more first-team football to keep his international hopes alive.
Delph started only 13 matches in all competitions last season, when he once again had problems with injuries.
He became a key man two years ago, filling in at left-back for the injured Benjamin Mendy, but that role has now been taken by Aleks Zinchenko.
Reports in Germany say Bayern Munich have accepted that Rodri is heading for the Etihad.
A deal should be finalised as soon as the player returns from holiday.
