Liverpool will demand £25m for defender Dejan Lovren as AC Milan eye transfer swoop

LIVERPOOL will demand £25million for defender Dejan Lovren amid interest from AC Milan, according to reports.
The Croatian fell down the pecking order at Anfield last season and the Italians are considering signing the player.
The 29-year-old featured regularly for the Reds prior to picking up a hamstring injury in January, but he only started two Premier League matches thereafter.
Lovren has dropped down to fourth choice centre-half at the club, after fellow team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip performed well over the course of last season.
Despite not being integral to Jurgen Klopp's plans, Liverpool still view him as a valuable asset to the team.
Losing him would mean having to find a replacement who is willing to sit on the bench for most games.
Meanwhile, the Croat - who signed for the club from Southampton in 2014 - still has two years remaining on his contract, so there is little need to cash in this summer.
The lack of urgency to get rid of Lovren means Liverpool will not consider letting him go for anything less than £25m, as SunSport revealed back in March.
AC Milan have taken notice of Lovren's lack of action under manager Klopp, but have not yet contacted Anfield officials.
According to , Frederic Massara, who recently left Roma, is due to become AC Milan's new sporting director.
He has shown interest in the defender previously and even tried to bring him to Rome.
Acting on their interest would be expensive for the seven-time European champions, who are currently seeking a new manager following the departure of club legend Gennaro Gattuso.

Nevertheless, Michael Edwards, Liverpool's sporting director, has a record of maximising sales, as seen by the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January 2018 for a fee that could have risen to £142m.
Even by selling Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for £19m, he managed to seek a lot of money for a player who scored just one goal in his time at the club.
If AC Milan choose to purchase Lovren, Liverpool will make £5m profit on a player who rarely even starts.
