Chelsea fans beg club to stop teasing them as Blues hint return by tweeting clip of great Frank Lampard goal
FANS have begged Chelsea to stop teasing them after posting a clip of one of Frank Lampard’s greatest-ever goals.
The Stamford Bridge legend is favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri this summer.
Lampard guided Derby to the Championship play-off finals in his first-ever season as a manager.
And with Sarri set to return to Italy with Juventus, it’s reckoned Roman Abramovich will call upon Lampard to return Chelsea to the summit of English football.
Reports claim it’s a matter of days before Sarri’s exit is confirmed.
And Chelsea are sure to make a swift appointment to avoid a repeat of last summer pre-season shambles when Antonio Conte was axed despite taking the first few days of training.
The Blues appear to have teased Lampard’s arrival by tweeting his excellent goal against Hull City in 2008.
And it seems supporters are desperate for “Super Frank” to finally be confirmed in the Chelsea dug-out.
One wrote: “Prepared for smooth landing. I see.”
Another said: “One from the archives, and it’s a beauty courtesy of our new manager Frank Lampard.”
One tweeted: “I see what you did here.”
