Man City target Rodri, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka in £180m transfer spree as clear-out could see Delph, Otamendi, Sane and Danilo leave
MANCHESTER CITY have reportedly identified Rodri, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as their first-choice transfer targets - while a summer clear-out is also expected.
It is widely accepted the Etihad club will look to bring in new recruits this summer despite winning the domestic treble this season.
Club captain Vincent Kompany has already left and looks set to be followed out of the door by a number of other first-team players.
According to , City are desperate to bring in a holding midfielder, a centre-back and a right-back in the off-season.
With Fernandinho now 34, Atletico Madrid's Rodri is the primary target as a long-term replacement.
It is thought City have agreed to pay the £62million release clause for the 6ft 3in Spaniard.
Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele and Marcos Llorente of Real Madrid have also been lined up but City would prefer Rodri, who is also a target for Bayern Munich.
HUSTLE AND HARRY
In defence, Maguire remains the No1 choice to try and step into the gigantic boots vacated by Kompany.
The Leicester star, 26, is currently with the England team with fellow defenders and Manchester City pair John Stones and Kyle Walker.
But Etihad chiefs are thought to be put off by the price tag - the Foxes want £75million-plus for the former Hull man.
Fernandinho's ability to drop into the back line and youngster Eric Garcia, 18, will provide other cover at centre-back.
BACK-UP AT FULL-BACK
Crystal Palace's Wan-Bissaka, 21, could be a £40m target for Pep Guardiola with fellow right-back Danilo allowed to leave, if City can sell him for around the £26.5 they paid Real Madrid for him in 2017.
But interest has cooled on Leicester and England left-back Ben Chilwell with the Etihad boss confident in Oleksandr Zinchenko's capability of filling in for injury-prone Benjamin Mendy.
Wan-Bissaka and Maguire would also help with City's homegrown quota as they maxed out on the number of foreign players permitted last season.
But with plenty coming in, some will also naturally need to be let go.
Latest transfer news
As well as Danilo, Nicolas Otamendi would be allowed to join Atletico Madrid and Fabian Delph - whose last start in the Premier League came on Boxing Day, when he was sent off at Leicester - could also follow him out.
City want at least £15m for the England midfielder, 29, but his £80,000-per-week wages could put potential suitors off, including West Ham.
And even though City are confident Leroy Sane will put pen to paper on a new deal to stay at the club, an offer of £90m from Bayern Munich would be enough to convince the back-to-back Premier League champions to sell.
