Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny looks unrecognisable as he shows off drastic haircut before Africa Cup of Nations
MOHAMED ELNENY has left fans in shock after the Arsenal midfielder showed off his new hairstyle on social media.
The 26-year-old looks almost unrecognisable after having his trademark curls shaved off ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Taking a leaf out of Marouane Fellaini's book, the ex-Basel star is hoping his new look inspires Egypt to their eighth AFCON title.
Uploading a pic of his shaved head, Elneny said: "Switching off before the next big thing: CAN 2019.
"And yes, you have seen it right, no more hair."
Fans were left stunned, as one tweeted: "Your trade mark was better though, separates you from other players on the field of play."
Another said: "I JUST SCREAMED MO WHERE IS YOUR HAIR BROTHER."
One quipped: "Maybe you can see a pass further than 2 yards now."
Commenting on the ex-Manchester United midfielder Fellaini, one joked: "You look like Fellaini's less elbowy brother."
Another remarked: "Gonna look sharp in ur (sic) new teams presentation photos my guy."
Elneny looks set to depart the Emirates in the summer after failing to establish himself as a regular in the side under Unai Emery.
He was limited to just eight Premier League appearances in the 2018/19 season, with Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Aaron Ramsey and Matteo Guendouzi all preferred instead.
The player has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce recently, while Bordeaux are also offering him an escape route from North London.
