The Reds beat Tottenham 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid - in what many have described as a final to forget.

Aside from Mo Salah's early penalty, the main talking point of the first-half was the presence of a scantily clad streaker.

Tottenham showed no character. There were players like Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli who did not want the ball

It was not much better after the break but Origi eventually put a flat Tottenham to the sword - striking the final blow in the 88th minute.

But while the Reds celebrated, Pirlo was busy laying into their opponents.

Speaking as a pundit for Italian TV - alongside ex-England boss Fabio Capello - the 40-year-old said: "Tottenham showed no character.

"There were players like Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen who didn’t want the ball.

"There was very little quality in midfield and the penalty incident made all the difference.

"Don’t get me wrong, it’s a thoroughly deserved trophy for Liverpool’s overall season, but also for their wonderful fans."

Eriksen - like most of Tottenham's team - was invisible for much of the game while Dele Alli's weak attempt at a lob in the second-half summed up an anonymous and disappointing night for the Englishman.

Spanish newspaper Marca were so disgusted with Alli's performance, they did not even give him a mark out of ten in their official player ratings for the game.

And despite Belgian forward Origi's late strike confirming Liverpool's sixth European title, Pirlo was not impressed with the rest of his contribution at all.

He even suggested a a violent reprisal was in order for the forward.

"Origi was awful," Pirlo said.

"He came off the bench with a horrible attitude, unworthy of a Champions League Final.

"If he hadn’t scored that goal, they should’ve given him a kicking."

Few Liverpool fans will care given the final result but the the ex-AC Milan and Juventus man may have had a point.

Because Origi had just three shots in the whole of the Champions League - but all of them found the back of the net.
