BT SPORT viewers were left in stitches as Liverpool players continually cancelled on-pitch interviews after winning the Champions League.

Reporter Des Kelly thought he had grabbed Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold as his headline interviewees at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

But just as the camera cut to the chat, Liverpool players began a group celebration in front of their supporters.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold moved to join them and were let go, ending the interview before it had began.

And a later chat with Divock Origi also only lasted one question as the goalscorer ran off to prepare for the trophy lift.

The scenes were enjoyed by fans with many loving their dart into the distance on social media.

Fans heaped praise on Kelly for allowing the players to take in the moment.

Karen tweeted: "That was a classy move."

Another, KernowReds, added: "That is excellent journalism, screw that actually that's excellent humanity."

Alex wrote: "Credit to Des Kelly for sacking off the pointless post match interview and letting Salah and Alexander-Arnold celebrate."

The pair later returned and gave their take on the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp also showed up as the trophy was paraded and hilariously dedicated the win to his family, as he normally loses his final game of the season and lets it ruin the summer.
