Emery refused to speak to ANY Arsenal player in dressing room after Europa League hammering by Chelsea, reveals Xhaka
UNAI EMERY was so furious with Arsenal's Europa League defeat that he refused to speak to any of the players in the dressing room.
The Gunners capitulated in the second half and crashed to a 4-1 defeat to miss out on Champions League football for a third consecutive year.
Midfielder Xhaka was the only Arsenal player that faced the media after the game.
And he was obviously angry and disappointed following the full-time whistle as he snapped back at reporters' questions.
When quizzed on what the manager said after the game, Xhaka replied: "Nothing."
And when asked why, he added: "I don't know. He is disappointed of course. Him, the players, nobody speaks in the dressing room."
Xhaka, 26, threatened to lose his rag with the reporter when he was asked whether the team had let down the departing Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey.
He sarcastically replied: "You ask a good question. A very good question. Did you think we did that?"
The reporter responds: "I'm asking the question."
To which Xhaka hit back: "I ask it to you back. The question is stupid, sorry. Come on. I don't provide an answer about this."
The Switzerland midfielder was finally asked about his future and appeared less than convincing answer when he said: "Me? I have a contract here."
And when quizzed on the difficulties of signing better calibre of players without Champions League football he responded: "I don't know, it is not my decision to sign big players or small players."
One player who could be arriving at the Emirates is Barcelona man Andre Gomes.
The midfielder enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Everton last season.
