Piers Morgan slams Olivier Giroud for mocking old club Arsenal in wild Chelsea Europa League trophy bus celebrations

CHELSEA star Olivier Giroud has been slammed by Piers Morgan after appearing to mock old club Arsenal in wild Europa League trophy celebrations.

The ex-Gunners striker was seen as a fan favourite at the Emirates, and was still a cult hero despite a move to Stamford Bridge.

He scored last night to sink his former side, as the Blues went on to smash Morgan's beloved club 4-1 in the final and miss out on Champions League football.

And in wild celebrations on the coach, Giroud is seen lifting the trophy aloft and mockingly shouting "Thank you Arsenal".

The Good Morning Britain host did not take the joke well though, nor did thousands of Arsenal fans on social media.

Fuming season ticket holder Morgan tweeted: "Giroud, Arsenal's worst lead striker in the past 35 years, cements his legacy."

The French forward started the scoring last night, before Eden Hazard and Pedro netted in a thumping in Baku, Azerbaijan.

One fan replied to Morgan by saying: "Our thoughts and prayers are with you in these difficult times Piers."

Another added: "Repeat after me Piers: 'Giroud is a Chelsea legend'.

But other Arsenal supporters were quick to slam the ex-Montpellier ace - branding him a snake and disgrace.

One raged: "After everything we did for him, this is how he repays us?"

And one Tweeted: "This is how you screw up your entire legacy. Disgraceful."

These two clubs changed my life, they gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

Giroud after the final

Giroud's taunting of Arsenal was something of a surprise after he paid tribute to the club for "changing his life" in the immediate aftermath of the final.

He also performed a muted celebration after his goal.

He told BT Sport: "It was a good final and we have been better, more efficient in the second half.

"I am very proud, this team deserved to win something. It was special for me, I am happy for this club. It’s my second trophy in two years.
