Maurizio Sarri ‘starting to feel like Chelsea team is his’ but confirms talks with board amid Juventus links

MAURIZIO SARRI refused to rule out a move to Juventus despite admitting Chelsea is “starting to feel like mine” following their Europa League joy.

A brace from Eden Hazard and goals from Olivier Giroud and Pedro secured the prize in Baku last night as the Blues thumped Arsenal 4-1.

Despite guiding them to the prize, his first trophy as a manager, the League Cup final and a third-place finish in the Prem, the Italian has still been criticised BY supporters.

But Sarri insists it has been a good season despite some tricky spells and now feels his men are becoming accustomed to his ways.

FEELING BLUE

Speaking to , the 60-year-old said: “We had a good season, because we earned out place in the Champions League via the Premier League, which was not an easy task considering the high overall level.

“We reached the League Cup Final after knocking out Liverpool and Tottenham, only lost on penalties to Manchester City. In the Europa League we won 12 and drew three, we scored more than anyone else.

“I think after tonight our season goes from good to extraordinary. It was not easy to arrive and settle quickly in such a difficult league.

“I had some problems, but from February onwards I saw something change in the rapport with the team. Maybe I changed too, but I am starting to feel like this team is mine.”

Serie A champions Juventus have made the former Napoli coach their No.1 target to replace Max Allegri.

Speculation has been rife personal terms have already been agreed between the Turin giants and the Blues boss.

And Sarri did not rule a Stamford Bridge exit as he confirmed he plans to hold talks with the Chelsea’s hierarchy over the coming days.

He said: “This is the time to celebrate. From tomorrow, as with all clubs, we’ll sit down and see what the club wants me to improve and what I want the club to improve.

“There are still two years on the contract, so as with every club, we have to sit down and evaluate everything.

“Over the last 20 days people have said I was certainly going to Roma, Milan and Juventus, so as long as I read them in the papers, it makes no difference.”
