Mbappe, Messi and Ramos top Newcastle fans’ transfer wishlist amid frenzy over takeover talk
NEWCASTLE fans have been caught up in a transfer frenzy amid talks over a potential takeover of the club by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan.
Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Ramos have all been hilariously linked with a move to St James' Park.
SunSport told you yesterday that paperwork between Mike Ashley and Sheikh Khaled had been sorted out and submitted to the Premier League.
And the Dubai-based billionaire's camp has reportedly confirmed that the £350million deal to purchase Newcastle has been "concluded".
Therefore, fans on social media were quick to offer Rafa Benitez help in drawing up a transfer list for the upcoming summer.
Assuming that Sheikh Khaled will be as generous as his cousin Sheikh Mansour - the Manchester City owner - football's biggest stars have been "primed" for a move to St James' Park.
And Juan Mata - who Benitez wants to reunite with on Tyneside - is not even the biggest name that appears on that list.
Newcastle were quickly linked with a swoop for Real Madrid defender Ramos as the Los Blancos skipper is pondering his Bernabeu future.
Fans are also urging Toon chiefs to offer Barcelona star Messi an escape route with a £228.5m move following his heart-breaking Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool.
And as Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe has recently opened the door for a move away from Parc des Princes, the French World Cup Winner is among potential signings, too.
Other transfer targets include £100m-rated Benfica prodigy Joao Felix, Atletico Madrid wantaway Antoine Griezmann and Jadon Sancho.
'AIM HIGHER'
Newcastle supporters fans couldn't stop themselves from chuckling at the ridiculous rumours.
One wrote on Twitter: "No stopping us now!"
Another added: "You have oil money now, NUFC! Aim higher!"
A third said: "I wish this was a joke but the thing is that it's actually going to happen."
And a fourth wrote: "Yeah, I also want to marry Rihanna."
SHEIKH-DOWN
Toon fans were sent into meltdown upon hearing about talks between Sheikh Khaled and Ashley earlier today as they are hoping to see the loathed chairman out the door soon.
