Emiliano Sala’s heartbroken sister pens emotional letter to tragic brother after plane crash death
Romania Sala's post comes after audio messages revealed that the 28-year-old never wanted to sign for Cardiff City
EMILIANO SALA’S sister has written a heartfelt letter to her brother following his death in January.
The Argentine striker tragically died at just 28 when the aircraft he was flying in to Wales crashed into the English Channel.
Sala was making his way to Cardiff after he agreed a £15million switch from Ligue 1 side Nantes when tragedy struck.
His sister’s post comes shortly after audio messages revealed he did NOT want to sign for the club.
Alongside a picture of the ocean, she wrote: “I can not understand how you just left without warning.
“You, who were the artisan of my heart and you dedicated yourself to build it with your own love.
“And it is in that silence, that I thank you for having turned into a swan everytime I felt like the ugly duckling of my stories.
“Then, your absence becomes a permanent presence.
“And your absent gaze is transformed into the indestructible foundations of my soul.
“And your abandonment, loses the egoism of my need and transforms it into a journey ahead of our meeting.
‘LEFT ME WITH A GIFT’
“I have to assume that your unconditional, can not bring you back. Of course it costs me.
“But I also know, that you took care to leave me a magic wand endowed with the best power I can have: love.
“And here I am. Shaking magical powders in the air as I can. Looking inside and not outside.
“Having the certainty that the ladder of my life can stop for a while, but it will never be walked backwards.
“Because you taught me to love me.
“And you left me with a gift, the tools to be able, in your absence, to transform myself into that Swan, remembering simply how it was the way you did it with me.
“And then it is there, where I return to believe that everything is capable of starting again.
“With love… with love.”
Sala’s family have since accused Cardiff of abandoning him “like a dog” before he was killed in the plane crash.
Cardiff City say they offered Sala a seat on a commercial flight, but he declined it.
A feud broke out between the two clubs over Sala’s transfer, which the Welsh club insists wasn’t completed.
Sala’s distraught mum, Mercedes Taffarel, urged Cardiff and Nantes to sort out their row.
The footballer’s father, Horaic, died of a broken heart aged 58 just three months the plane crash tragedy.
