Bolton unable to give Harry Brockbank new deal while in administration – putting Championship clubs on transfer alert

Defender is due fresh terms after playing in three first-team matches in a breakthrough campaign

CRISIS-CLUB Bolton face the loss of starlet Harry Brockbank - because they are in administration.

The right-back, 20, made his debut in the relegation campaign and is immediately due a new deal after playing three times for the first team.

However Bolton are unable to give him a contract in their current state and Brockbank's old deal has now been nullified by the automatic rise that was triggered.

The deadline for the fresh deal passed at the weekend and the ace can now go free, with clubs in the Championship and Scotland aware of his surprise availability.

Bolton failed to complete their fixtures this season and were relegated into League One.

Wanderers are likely to be hit with a points deduction as their worries pile up.

Everton have reportedly stepped in and donated a week's wages to help unpaid staff in a classy gesture.

A £1.2million tax bill has left the club — currently in the hands of administrators — unable to pay their workers.

Non-playing employees have not been paid for April and the club recently entered administration following relegation from the Championship.

As a result, the club's supporters trust have set up a food bank to help beleaguered staff.
