MANCHESTER UNITED fans have mistakenly fallen for fake Roy Keane quotes blasting Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard - but agreed with their sentiment.
The words incorrectly attributed to the Old Trafford legend have gone viral on social media.
But it appears the former captain did not say them, though that has not stopped people sharing them widely and agreeing with them.
The quote falsely attributed to Keane reads: "You look at Matthijs de Ligt, he’s captaining Ajax at 19 years old earning a modest wage.
"Meanwhile Rashford is scoring 10 goals a season, killing disabled fans in wheelchairs with his free kicks earning £100k and Lingard is earning £120k to be an Instagrammer."
Fans have enjoyed the words nonetheless and the consensus is that they accurately sum up the state of United at the moment.
