Ajax celebrate Dutch title glory with 100,000 fans on streets of Amsterdam in incredible parade
After four seasons of finishing second, the Champions League semi-finalists got their hands on Eredivisie title No34
AJAX celebrated winning the Eredivisie with a brilliant parade as 100,000 fans joined in the incredible scenes.
The Dutch giants wrapped up their 34th league title last night and showed it off in Amsterdam today.
Erik ten Hag's side smashed De Graafschap 4-1 to pip rivals PSV Eindhoven by three points.
Fans let off flares inside the Stadion De Vijverberg in Doetinchem following the victory and the partying back in Amsterdam continued long into the night.
But supporters - most of whom will not have been at the game last night - congregated at the Museumplein to give their beloved team a hero's welcome.
Many enjoyed beers in the afternoon sun and others let off flares in anticipation of their Ajax side's arrival.
And when they did - decked out in their champions shirts - skipper Matthijs de Ligt lifted the famous plate as the confetti came raining down.
FAREWELL TO DE BOYS
While it was a chance to celebrate Ajax's triumph, the parade also gave fans the opportunity to say goodbye to Frenkie de Jong - and possibly De Ligt.
De Jong will join Barcelona this summer while De Ligt remains a target for plenty of top European clubs.
Ajax have enjoyed a sensational season under Ten Hag.
As well as winning their first league title since 2014, they also won the Dutch Cup with a 4-0 victory over Willem II in the final earlier in May. It is the first time they have won a domestic double of league and cup since way back in 2002.
They also impressed in Europe, shocking many by reaching the Champions League semi-finals, where they were cruelly knocked out by Lucas Moura's extra-time winner last week.
Ajax's players all wore the No34 on the back of their shirts - incredibly the number of their midfielder Abdelhak Nouri and the number of titles they have now won.

The Moroccan has not played since collapsing during a friendly in July 2017, spending the first 13 months of his recovery in a coma.
Nouri's father and brother were welcomed on to the stage before captain De Ligt introduced them to the crowd.
In emotional scenes, the fans chanted Nouri's name before the pair held the two trophies aloft together and father Mohammed addressed the crowd, who broke into a rendition of "We Love You Nouri."
