Andre Gomes ‘£26m transfer agreed between Spurs and Barcelona’ with midfielder set to snub permanent Everton move

The 25-year-old is in line to face Mauricio Pochettino's side on the final day after serving a three-match ban

TOTTENHAM have "agreed a £26million deal with Barcelona for Andre Gomes" with the midfielder set to snub a permanent switch to Everton, according to reports.

The Portuguese playmaker has impressed since arriving at Goodison Park on loan this season and is also a transfer target for North London rivals Arsenal and Inter Milan.

The 25-year-old, who first emerged as a target for Spurs in December, is in line to face Mauricio Pochettino's side on the final day after serving a three-match ban.

Marco Silva remains hopeful of landing Gomes but suggest he has already agreed terms on a £26million move to the Champions League finalists.

The Everton boss said: "The only feedback I have had until now is from Andre, our relationship is really honest from the first day.

"He didn't decide anything about his future and his agent too. This is what I can say to you.

"I've already told you about our talks not only with him but (Kurt) Zouma too. It is up to us to show that ambition with the clubs and the players.

"Him and Zouma, they were key players for us this season."

The Toffees may be in line for a double blow if reports of Gomes joining Spurs are accurate, with Chelsea also set to recall their defender this summer.

Everton remain keen on bringing Zouma back to Goodison Park on a permanent basis but any move rests on the west London side’s looming transfer ban.

The 24-year-old has been in top form under Marco Silva this season, making 31 Premier League appearances to help the Merseyside club to eighth in the table.

Despite becoming a fan-favourite up north, Chelsea are planning to recall the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge for pre-season.

Gary Cahill has played his last game for the Blues with Zouma expected to link up with Mauricio Sarri's side as they travel to Japan in July for pre-season games.
