Ajax star Matthijs De Ligt’s move to Barcelona in doubt because his controversial agent Mino Raiola is demanding a £12m cut

Teenage centre-half is one of the most talked-about footballers on the planet right now

AJAX sensation Matthijs De Ligt's move to Barcelona is in jeopardy - because his agent Mino Raiola is demanding a £13MILLION CUT.

The controversial Raiola, who counts the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic among his clients, is said to be demanding a 20-per cent cut of any deal taking De Ligt to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona are reportedly close to finalising a deal worth £60.2 million to take the 19-year-old centre-half to Spain but Raiola’s cut of £12m is a stumbling block, according to reports.

Agent’s fees are usually between five and 10 per cent of a transfer fee and Ajax are reportedly unwilling to pay Raiola’s astronomical cut.

And Barcelona do not want to raise the transfer fee to compensate them.

Spanish media report De Ligt, who is a target for Manchester United among other Premier League clubs, has "decided to follow" his fellow Ajax starlet Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona.

And he is "hoping Raiola is willing to lower his demands" to have the deal finalised as quickly as possible.

The centre-back has had a breakout season as Ajax captain, scoring against Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur in the Dutch club’s Champions League run.

Ajax Executive Director Edwin Van der Sar recently said: “I think he’s playing his last few matches with us, I think he’ll go to Spain or England.”
