Chelsea transfer ban ‘very, very bad news’ in keeping hold of £100m Real Madrid target Hazard

The Blues' two-window embargo was upheld on Tuesday, with the club unable to bring in new talent until July 2020

CHELSEA'S upcoming transfer ban is "very, very bad news" for the club - with Eden Hazard on the brink of making a £100million move to Real Madrid.

The Blues' two-window embargo was upheld on Wednesday, with the club unable to bring in new talent until July 2020.

The West Londoners were slapped with the year-long ban after breaching rules relating to the signing of minors, including Bertrand Traore.

With Hazard all-but certain to join Los Blancos this summer, reports from AS in Spain have called the setback "very, very bad news".

With no ability to bring in new talent to support Hazard - who has looked alone on the pitch at times this season - the Belgian may now opt to cut his losses and move on.

Chelsea may now be forced to start a youthful front-three of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham next season with Hazard off.

Real Madrid are said to be "growing frustrated" with Chelsea's stubbornness regarding prized asset Hazard.

EDEN SOMEWHERE?

The Blues are holding firm in demanding £100m for the Belgian, 28, with Los Blancos submitted two, much lower offers already.

Now Hazard is being tipped to hand in a transfer request in order to force through a transfer he's repeatedly called a "dream move".

Earlier this week, Hazard set tongues wagging even more after a recent interaction with a fan.

The Belgian shook his head, laughed and drove off after he was begged to stay at the club this summer.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chelsea were informed they had been unsuccessful in appealing their transfer ban.

They were found guilty of 29 breaches of regulations over transferring minors, with the key case being that of former attacking midfielder Traore.

Fifa stated: “With respect to all men’s teams, the ban on registering new players, both nationally and internationally for two registration periods, has been confirmed by the Fifa Appeal Committee.”

The committee also upheld the fine of £453,000.
