MASON GREENWOOD could be set to be given his full debut for Manchester United against Cardiff on Sunday with the club sweating on Romelu Lukaku's fitness.
The Belgian is nursing a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield that ended the Red Devils hopes of Champions League qualification.
The 25-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Serie A this summer, is not expected to recover for the visit of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's former side to Old Trafford.
The Norwegian is now set to turn to academy striker Greenwood, who was also absent from the Terriers draw through injury but will now be given the chance to impress.
Speaking before the stalemate at the John Smith Stadium, Solskjaer said: "Hopefully we can see Mason before the end of the season, not now.
"He's injured but hopefully in the last game against Cardiff he will get his injury sorted and he will be ready."
Greenwood made his debut in the thrilling 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in March but his last cameo came in the Red Devils 2-1 win over West Ham last month.

The England Under-18 international is yet to start a game for the Old Trafford club but was recently nominated for the Premier League Youth Player of Month for April.
Although sixth-placed United have failed to finish in the top four, they could leapfrog Arsenal should they beat Cardiff and the Gunners fail to beat Burnley.
Should the Red Devils end the season in fifth they will at least then definitely avoid the disruption of a Europa League qualifier in July.
Solksjaer was without Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling against the basement boys, with Alexis Sanchez adding to the injury woes.
The Norwegian may now be left with just Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford as the only senior attackers alongside teen striker Greenwood against the Welsh side.

“There’s always a chance it’s the last time but I wouldn’t say that about any individual now, I don’t think that’s fair. Today wasn’t one individual that was disappointing, it was the whole team.”
