Epic commentary of Liverpool match with Game of Thrones references hailed as ‘best ever’ by spellbound fans
Arlo White treated supporters of the fantasy epic to a boat-load of puns during Liverpool's win over Newcastle
FOOTBALL fans have gone mad for some epic Game of Thrones commentary during Liverpool’s win over Newcastle.
Supporters watching the Premier League clash on Saturday were treated to some great puns by commentator Arlo White.
Game of Thrones is currently near the end of its final season, with an epic conclusion set to be in store.
And White very funnily found some great comparisons between the hit TV show and Liverpool’s title run-in with Manchester City.
He said: “As we approach the final episodes of this spell-binding saga to crown the new Premier League kings, Jurgen Klopp will send his red dragons out to scorch the St James’ Park turf, so he can spend another long night on the Iron Throne.
“But lose, and Liverpool’s quest for glory in the north will fizzle out like a Dothraki cavalry charge.
“Rafa Benitez has bent the knee to the Khal St James after he conquered the kingdoms of Europe when he ruled over Anfield.
“He’ll demand the Toon Army stand their ground like Brienne of Tarth and hope that Ayoze Stark can produce a late dagger the shatter the hopes of his former club.”
Fans went wild on Twitter, with one saying: “This is one of the best commentary ever in the history of football.”
