Devout Christian Giroud reveals he has arm tattoo for religious reasons as Chelsea star opens up on faith in God

CHELSEA striker Olivier Giroud wears his heart on his sleeve after revealing his arm tattoo is for religious reasons.
The 32-year-old has opened up on his Christian faith with the ex-Arsenal ace having the first line of Psalm 23 inked on his right forearm.
Giroud has the Latin phrase 'Dominus regit me et nihil mihi deerit' tattooed on him, which translates to 'The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want'.
While he also has designs on his left bicep that symbolises faith, love, family, friends and health.
Speaking of what he was feeling after he helped France win the World Cup, he told the : "I’m very religious so, at that moment, I just thanked God.
"I was very grateful to have the opportunity to live my dream. To live every single day for me is a day blessed."
While he also revealed he has attached himself St Barnabas church in Kensington - which is connected to the evangelical wing of the Church in England.
He added: "I grew up with my mother bringing me every single Sunday to church.
"After, I just carried on and now I’m seeing a Christian priest studying the bible together and I feel like I want to know more about Jesus Christ’s life.
"And every time I read the word of the Holy Bible it makes me feel grateful about everything that has happened to me. And positive. Because so many bad things happen in the world."

Giroud also said his celebration is another nod to his faith, as he said: "Every time I score I point my fingers in the direction of the sky."
