Suarez celebrating Barcelona goal against former side Liverpool causes controversy
The former Reds striker turned in Jordi Alba's cross to give Barca the advantage in their Champions League semi-final
LUIS SUAREZ scored against his former side Liverpool - but his celebration sparked another talking point.
The Barcelona star, 32, latched on to Jordi Alba's wicked delivery to turn past Alisson for his first goal against the Reds.
And then he wheeled away in delight and did not hold back despite tonight's opposition.
The Uruguayan ran around the back of the goal, kissed his fingers and then slid on his knees before being mobbed by his team-mates.
And plenty on Twitter were quick to notice the celebration, which many ex-players decide against.
Paul Cox wrote: "Luis Suarez is definitely not the type to refrain from celebrating vs a former team.
"Guy plays all out. Heart is in it all the time. I used to hate him but damn, he’s a gamer."
User @razza_bezza added: "Luis Suarez coming back to bite Liverpool!" referencing the striker's history with his teeth.
A parody Opta account tweeted: "88 - Percentage of Liverpool fans suddenly denying they definitely thought if Luis Suarez scored against them he wouldn’t celebrate. Muted."
That celebration shows a total lack of respect for his former club.

And another account added a picture of American TV host Steve Harvey crying with the caption: "Liverpool fans after watching Luis Suarez score against them and celebrate like he does not know them."
Suarez spent three-and-a-half years at Anfield before joining Barcelona for £75million in 2014 after Liverpool missed out on the Premier League title.
Since his switch, he has bagged 177 goals for the Catalan giants and helped them to four La Liga crowns, four Copa del Reys, a Champions League and a Club World Cup.
And his latest strike, a fine finish as he slid towards goal after drifting past Virgil van Dijk, clearly meant a lot to him.
After all, it was his first in the Champions League since April 4, 2018 against Roma, with Alisson the goalkeeper, and it was Barca's 500th goal in the competition. Only Real Madrid have more.
However, Lionel Messi will grab the headlines as he bagged his 599th and 600th Barcelona goals, hitting the milestone with a stunning free-kick.

Suarez was withdrawn in injury time to a standing ovation from the Nou Camp crowd, who know their side have one foot in June's final.
But others still vented their frustration towards the striker.
