Zouma has been in top form under Marco Silva this season, making 29 Premier League appearances and helping his side to eighth in the table.

But it is unclear if he has a future at Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea are currently under a two-window transfer ban.

And they are yet to discover if their latest appeal will be successful after an initial one was rejected by the authorities.

Gary Cahill is set to leave Chelsea when his contract expires.

While David Luiz is also yet to have his deal extended by the club.

And if the Blues are unable to sign any new players, Zouma may very well find himself in Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

However, should Chelsea get the go-ahead to strengthen, and they find a centre-back suitable for Sarriball, Everton could be in the clear to make Zouma’s loan stay permanent.

Goodison Park playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has made it clear he wants the defender to stay after the 24-year-old formed a strong partnership with Michael Keane.

Sigurdsson told the Echo: “We want to keep every good player that we’ve got.

“He’s been fantastic for us since he came in, so hopefully he’ll want to stay.

“I’m sure the club will put a bit of pressure on him to stay, and I’m sure the boys will as well.”
