SERGIO BUSQUETS has revealed he is "tempted" to join David Beckham's new Miami FC franchise in the MLS after his Barcelona career comes to an end.

The 30-year-old only committed his long-term future to his boyhood club in September by penning a mega five-year deal that also comes with a £445million buyout clause.

However, the imminent revival of £65million Ajax starlet Frenkie De Jong has caused the Spaniard to reassess his future options before hanging up his boots.

Speaking to , he said: “I’ve always said that I won’t be a Barcelona player for 20 years with a secondary role.

"The moment that I feel my ambition is fading or that I am not able to deliver physically, I will step aside and leave feeling privileged and content of what I gave to the club.

“You can’t obviously predict the future, but I am a fan of the United States and soccer over there continues to grow.

"[MLS's] competitive style and playoff format is different to what we’re used to over here, and that really appeals to me.”

Busquets also jokingly confessed that he could be tempted with a move to David Beckham's new Miami United franchise, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

The Manchester United legend, 43, is the joint owner of new MLS franchise Inter Miami who plan on building two stadiums costing £800million.

Inter Miami will head into their debut MLS season in 2020 and reports claim that Beckham wants Busquet's teammate Lionel Messi to part of their history.

The Barcelona superstar is under contract until June 2021 but will be 33 at the time.

Becks has also reportedly placed Messi's long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of his wish list, with the Florida-based outfit attempting to lure the Portuguese to MLS.

Ronaldo's contract at Juventus will have a year left when the Miami club start competitive football in 2020.

And a final fanfare in America may be the perfect finale to a phenomenal career for CR7, the man who inherited Beckham's No7 at Manchester United in 2003.
