Punter burst onto the field as Ibrahimovic's LA Galaxy visited Vancouver Whitecaps in desperate attempt to get an autograph
A DESPERATE Zlatan Ibrahimovic fan invaded the pitch during a game - just to get the striker's autograph.
Ibrahimovic is a national hero in his native Sweden following a career which has seen him become one of the most celebrated figures in the country.
And his popularity clearly shows no signs of being on the wain judging by events in Vancouver.
Ibrahimovic, 37, was in town as his LA Galaxy side took on Vancouver Whitecaps in their latest MLS game.
That was too much excitement for the supporter, wearing a Sweden national team shirt, to take.
He burst onto the playing surface to interrupt the game and made a beeline for the former Manchester United and Barcelona star.
Once there, the punter simply asked his hero to sign his autograph on his jersey - which Ibrahimovic did.
The fan then happily walked away before he was confronted by security guards who were belatedly dashing onto the pitch.
He even offered his hands behind his back mimicking being arrested as he was escorted off the field clearly satisfied with his efforts.
And the supporters in the ground greeted his ejection with cheers, which he returned with a wave as he milked his moment in the spotlight.
Though the incident passed without any danger being posed to Ibrahimovic, questions will be asked about the ease in which the fan got onto the field - and the amount of time it took for security to intervene.
Ibrahimovic did not allow the incident to put him off his game, as he scored the second goal in a 2-0 win for Galaxy.
