‘Disappointed’ Warnock in hilarious post-match banter with Etheridge and De Bruyne over Man City goal

CARDIFF coach Neil Warnock hilariously asked Kevin de Bruyne whether he intended to score his "disappointing" fluke goal for Manchester City following the Wednesday clash at the Etihad.
And when the Belgian midfielder admitted that he in fact attempted a cross, relieved Bluebirds goalkeeper Neil Etheridge told the Man City ace that he "saved him a fine".
Six minutes in the game, Aymeric Laporte sent a delightful through ball to De Bruyne into Etheridge's box.
It seemed the angle was too tight for the Belgium international to tuck the ball away.
And the City ace thought so too, as he revealed to Warnock following the game, but somehow smashed it home anyway, scoring his first goal since December 2018.
The Bluebirds coach was seen chuckling with Etheridge and De Bruyne after Cardiff eventually lost 2-0, as he asked the Belgian whether his effort was intentional.

And when De Bryune admitted that it wasn't, the Cardiff keeper told him that he "saved him a fine".
Warnock confirmed after the game that he was indeed curious whether De Bruyne meant to smash the ball past Etheridge.
Although, he insisted that the Cardiff shot-stopper should be disappointed with his reaction.
Warnock said: "The first goal, I think Neil the goalkeeper will be disappointed in that.
"When I went on the pitch after he had a great second half, pulled off some great saves, I said 'it's a pity about the goal, son' and he said 'gaffer he didn't mean it, De Bruyne!'.
"Kevin was just going off the pitch so I shouted to Kevin and said 'tell me the truth, he said you didn't mean it' and he went 'I didn't'.
"He meant to cross it but the power of the cross was too much.

"It's a good lesson for [Neil] because you can't anticipate as a goalkeeper, but that was good of Kevin really."
Warnock was in much better spirits than after the 2-1 loss to Chelsea last weekend.
