Cops have been to see him but he has decided not to press charges after the £30m Everton stopper apologised.
A pal of Andy’s said: “The lad has apologised and that’s it as far as he is concerned. He doesn’t want to drag it on.”
The Sun revealed how Pickford, 25, had been boozing in Sunderland as he watched his home town side lose a Wembley final to Portsmouth on Sunday.
As the evening wore on he was snapped hugging a fan while holding a bottle of spirits with a drinks stain down his top.
At one stage locals poked fun at him by calling him “butter fingers” as he drank at the Ps and Qs bar in Sunderland.
He laughed off those taunts but a witness said he exploded in rage when a drinker insulted his fiancee Megan Davison, 22, who gave birth to their first child in February.
Video footage shows Pickford at the centre of a crowd of people outside the bar with Andy’s arm around his neck as he tries to calm him down.
The player then breaks free and appears to throw two punches – one of which connects with Andy’s face.
Andy doesn't react and Pickford is then dragged away by friends before police arrive at the scene.
As the fracas developed one onlooker is heard on the footage yelling: “It’s Pickford” before another cries: “Jordan you k**b.”
'Apart from his eye and a damaged watch, he's doing okay'
Friend of Jordan Pickford
Andy runs a security firm in Pickford’s home town of Washington, Tyne and Wear, and provides the door staff for the bar.
He wasn’t working that night as he was out with friends celebrating his 41st birthday but he still stepped in to try and calm things down – and ended up with a black eye.
He wasn’t part of Pickford’s group but had bumped into him earlier in the evening and had even had a drink with the player.
A friend said: "Andy wasn't working, he was out for his birthday.
"He was originally in the River Bar and, would you believe, had a drink with Jordan. Then they went to Sunderland and headed to Ps & Qs where he often works the door.
"Then it's escalated - Jordan's been fighting outside and he stepped in.
"Apart from his eye and a damaged watch, he's doing okay.”
'The Club has been made aware of an alleged incident'
Everton spokesman
Andy’s firm provides security staff for pubs and clubs, shopping centres, local businesses and music festivals.
Everton have said they will investigate the incident and it is thought that the keeper was having talks with head coach Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands yesterday afternoon.
An Everton spokesman said: “The Club has been made aware of an alleged incident involving one of our players and we are looking into the matter.”
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At 12:19am today (Monday), police received a report of a disturbance involving a large group of individuals on Tunstall Road, Sunderland.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and locate those involved. Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured and no arrests have been made.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 19 010419 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
