IS XHAK BACK?

Arsenal fans worried Granit Xhaka isn’t fit to start against Newcastle after noticing he’s been missing from official training photos

ARSENAL fans have a theory as to why Granit Xhaka will NOT play tonight against Newcastle.

The Gunners midfielder got injured while on international duty with Switzerland in their Euro qualifier against Denmark.

And Xhaka has not posted a picture of himself in training this week on his Instagram account, leading to speculation he will not play in tonight's clash at home to Newcastle.

He has posted pictures from the training ground ahead of their last three games, against Rennes (twice) and Manchester United.

Xhaka also shared a video of Arsenal training before they played Spurs on March 2.

There had been talk that Xhaka would be risked for tonight's game though, with three points on the line for the Gunners in the race for the top four.

MUSCLE PROBLEM

Unai Emery's side can leapfrog Manchester United and Tottenham into third if they beat the Toffees at Goodison Park.

The Spaniard said on Friday: "Xhaka rested today, we’re going to wait tomorrow and Sunday but the first previews from the doctor is that he can progress to be ready for Monday."

But Arsenal fans are not sure he will be risked.

One user on Reddit user said: "Haven't seen Xhaka in any training photos, and he hasn't made his usual post about preparing for the next match so I'm gonna assume he's out with knock/injury."

Switzerland had been 3-0 up against Denmark when Xhaka went off, after he had put them 2-0 up.

Then they somehow managed to blow their advantage and ended up drawing 3-3 in a freak result.
