Real Madrid set to make £70m opening offer for Chelsea star Hazard
The Spanish giants know the Blues will turn down the bid but it's a statement of their intent to land the Belgian star
REAL MADRID will kick off the bidding for Eden Hazard at £70million.
The Spanish giants know Chelsea will turn down the bid but this is the start of their statement of intent to land Hazard.
Real representatives have already visited London for talks on a deal for the Belgian superstar.
That move was the start of a process which will lead to Hazard moving to the Bernabeu as one of a series of high-profile signings by Zinedine Zidane.
The Real boss has already sealed the £45m capture of Porto defender Eder Militao.
Chelsea, who thumped Dynamo Kiev 5-0 in the Europa League last night, are resigned to losing their star player.
Hazard, 28, has his heart set on working with Zizou and has turned down several contract offers that would make him the best-paid player in the Blues’ history.
But Maurizio Sarri has insisted he is not concerned about the speculation, saying: “You have to ask to Hazard [about Zidane] I think.
“I don’t know at the moment. I didn’t speak with Eden about Zidane.
“I am not worried because you know my opinion. I want only in my team players who want to play for Chelsea, so I can’t be worried.”
