Star-maker Monchi refuses to discuss future amid Arsenal and PSG links
The former goalkeeper and director of football at Roma left the club last week and is being tipped to take on the role elsewhere
ARSENAL'S potential Director of Football Monchi has refused to reveal his next steps after leaving Roma.
The Spaniard, 50, left the Italian giants on Friday and many expect him to move to the Emirates in the same role.
But when quizzed on whether he will be joining the Gunners in an interview, he tactically downplayed the suggestions.
He told : "I haven't decided my future yet."
Monchi spent his playing career as a goalkeeper at Sevilla before taking on the role as Director of Football at the same club in 2000.
In his 17 years in the post, Monchi helped them win 11 trophies, including five Uefa Cup and Europa League titles.
Three of these were won by current Arsenal boss Unai Emery in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
But it was his ability to unearth young talent that has earned him such a strong reputation.
He helped find the likes of Sergio Ramos and Jose Antonio Reyes and brought them through the club's academy.
Meanwhile, he signed Dani Alves, Julio Baptista and Ivan Rakitic before selling them on for big profits.

Monchi
Monchi's time at Roma may have come to a premature end but he is trying to keep upbeat as he was asked about the departure and if we have seen the "real Monchi".
He said: "I don't think it's time to look into these things. It's time to remember good things.
"I don't want to talk about it, I always want to stay with positive thinking, that is, to have had the chance to have worked in Rome and at Roma.
"I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to work here in Rome. It is better to look forward.

"I send a big good luck to Rome for the rest of the season. I hope it ends with the goal of getting into the top four."
Monchi is expected to fulfil the new role at Arsenal and oversee the footballing operations.
Arsenal stepped up their bid for Monchi earlier this year when head of recruitment Sven Mislintat announced he was quitting after just 13 months.
But a reunion with Emery may be at threat if the gaffer's former club Paris Saint-Germain come calling.
Sporting director Antero Henrique is under pressure - not helped by the club's Champions League exit - and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi may look to find a replacement.
Arsene Wenger has also been linked but if PSG want someone experienced in the role and also available, they will no doubt be considering Monchi.
