MANCHESTER UNITED flop Radamel Falcao has declared his intention to become a big hitter at last ... by switching careers to BASEBALL.
The Colombia striker failed to step up to the plate while on loan at Old Trafford four seasons ago, scoring just four times in 29 games.
Falcao also struck out during an injury-hit loan to Chelsea the following year, with 12 appearances yielding just one goal.
However the Monaco star, a Miami Marlins fan, plans to be a success in Major League Baseball when he hangs up his boots.
And Falcao will use Michael Jordan as an example after the basketball legend switched to minor-league baseball in 1994.
Falcao, 33, said: "I think I will start a career as a professional baseball player once my football career is over.
"I want to copy Michael Jordan, even though he played basketball and didn't manage to play in the Major League.
"I want to be the first person to switch from one sport to another while remaining at the highest level. It is a real challenge.
"Baseball is an ideal sport, from the points of view of its movements and sequences, as well as the discipline it gives you.
"In football the ball moves less quickly, so it is easy to deal with when you have learned the movements of baseball as I have.

Falcao has been back at Monaco since returning from Stamford Bridge in 2016.
He helped them win the French Ligue 1 title the following year, and has 13 goals from 31 games this season.
