The Red Devils have sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old right-back on a number of occasions already this season.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to invest in more youth, and has been impressed with the reports back on Wan-Bissaka.
It is understood they are looking to make an offer for the Palace youngster when the summer transfer window opens in May.
An Old Trafford source said: “Scouts were at Burnley a few weekends back along with Brighton. That is around a dozen times since December.
“They really do like what they see and all the reports back are excellent. He is definitely someone close on the radar.
“Valencia is leaving and Ashley Young is getting on in years. Diogo Dalot is excellent but you can't rely on him too heavily.”
