That 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford had put PSG in control of the last-16 tie before tonight's return game at the Parc des Princes.
But United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted it was not impossible to expect his side to pull off a shock victory to keep alive their European dreams.
And not only did the upset go down as one of the club's best results in European competition in recent years - it is also worth big money.
The side which makes it through to the last eight is due an extra payment of £9m from Uefa because of how the competition's prize money is structured.
Each side who makes it into the Champions League earns a payout from the various television broadcast deals, but they also receive bonuses depending on how well they do.
Every one of the eight teams who make it through to the quarters will get an extra £9m payout from Uefa - with a further £10.31m going to all the sides who reach the semi-finals.
Reaching the final is worth £12.88m to the two teams, with a further £3.44m going to the eventual winners.
