Solskjaer insists ‘nothing is impossible’ for Man Utd and takes inspiration from Bayern Munich comeback ahead of PSG clash

Old Trafford boss is preparing his side to try and bounceback from a two-goal deficit against the French giants in the Champions League

OLE SOLSKJAER says there is no such thig as ‘mission impossible’ when it comes to Manchester United.

It certainly seems like one with the Red Devils 2-0 down from the home leg against PSG as they enter the Parc des Princes tomorrow.

But Solskjaer has been part of too many incredible comebacks by this club too give up on this Champions League last 16 tie.

Solskjaer said: “It’s never mission impossible, it’s more difficult but we've got to get the first goal and anything can happen.

“Suddenly goals always change games and if we get the first one we'll be believe even more and they might start doubting themselves but it's important we get the first one.

“Yes we are 2-0 down after the first game but we never approach a game as a lost cause.

“Everyone expects us to go out easily but that doesn’t happen with Manchester United and Manchester United players.

“When no one believes in you there's always that little bit of character we have to show.

“These players are not used to losing, not happy with how we lost the home game, and at our best we can match them.”

“Our pride was hurt in the first leg but we are going to see out players give their all.

“It's a difficult task but we can do it. If we get nine or 10 playing to the top standards we've got a chance.”

Solskjaer’s plan is to still be in the tie with half an hour left and hope nerves fill the stadium and reach the French champions.

United’s history has been built on comebacks and retrieving lost causes, most notably in Solskjaer’s time as a player.

PSG know this and Solskjaer wants it to play on their minds.

He said: “Obviously we need the first goal and we need to stay in the game with half an hour left and one goal in it.

“Then anything can happen but we need a good plan, it needs to be put in place and we need to perform on the night because they are a team full of quality.”
